Fiber optics coupled to CCD or CMOS cameras are used to improve the light collection efficiency for many applications such as digital radiography, chemiluminescent markers, streak tubes, microchannel plates, and image intensifiers.  The gain in light over a lens coupled system can approach a factor of 10, depending on the size and taper of the fiber optic and CCD/CMOS sensor.

PXI has over 15 years experience bonding fiber optics to a variety of sensors.  Using our proprietary process, we have successfully built fiber optic imaging systems for national labs, aerospace manufacturers, digital x-ray imaging companies, and leading universities.  No job is too large or too small for our team of designers.  We also have the capability to coat the fiber optic surface with scintillating phosphors (see Xray Coatings).
